Welcome to Outgang

Outgang is Laura Gallagher’s initiative to provide affordable, high quality education and other tools to character artists worldwide.

Laura is a veteran of the games industry, having worked almost ten years at Eidos Montreal and over two years at Guerrilla Games, in both instances up to the role of Lead Character Artist. Laura worked on franchises including Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Marvel and Horizon.

Laura has been teaching character art since 2012, most prominently as a university lecturer at NAD/UQAC in Montreal and online for CGMA. Over the years she mentored a sizeable number of apprentice character artists that have gone on to succeed in their chosen industry.

Laura’s teaching approach is centered on developing key problem-solving skills and critical reflection to allow artists not only to solve the creative challenges they now face, but the challenges they will face in the future.
