Gain a better understanding of JavaScript—what it’s used for and why it’s one of the foundational web programming languages, alongside HTML and CSS. Learn to configure your code editor to work more comfortably, then see how to incorporate JavaScript into a web page.

Your first contact with JavaScript involves variables, functions, events, and loops, which you learn to write along with other basic complementary JavaScript features.

From here, begin the design of your memory game, starting with the array, or list of values, to represent the pack of cards for your game.

Move on to add events and random card draws to make things a little more difficult.

Next, it’s time to add the first interactive element to your memory game: marking the selected pair of cards as either a match or incorrect. Gradually incorporate more functions relating to a specific part of the script, such as “match” and “incorrect” among others, and also manage feedback for each of the results.

To make things even harder, add a timer, difficulty levels, sound effects, and additional details to the interface.

Finish up going through the different complementary resource libraries that JavaScript has to offer including jQuery, React, and Vue.
