In this course, you will learn to obtain memorable portraits with the minimum resources during an interview: a camera, natural light, a subject that is not accustomed to posing and a daily location. More than technical aspects in this course you will learn to know the subject and discover its most fascinating facet to communicate it with great force. And since photography does not end when the shutter is activated, Lupe will also teach you to perform the subsequent treatment of the image, which will be the process that will give youa personal tone and according to the mood you want to transmit.

What will you learn in this online course? You will begin by getting to know the work and career of Lupe de la Vallina, who will also tell you about some of his references and the sources he goes to for inspiration.

Afterwards, you will see what is the minimum material you need to face a photographic session like the one Lupe proposes, how to choose the elements for the photo shoot and how to improvise when it is not possible to choose, and what is the preparation you need to take out a photographic portrait.

Lupe will show you in detail the way she faces and takes a photo session during an interview, showing you how the interviewee moves around and how she takes photographs in a posed, the most intense and beautiful moment of the portrait. It will teach you to organize space and time, looking for the best locations.

You will see how Lupe does the subsequent treatment of the image once the photographs are made. You will learn to organize the photos so you can work on them, how to select the best ones, how to treat light and color so that they show the mood and intensity you want to instill in them and finally, how to prepare the images to send them to your Final client.

What is this course’s project? You will make a series of photographs taking as a source of light only natural light and you will make the photo retouch with Photoshop to leave them ready for publication.

Requirements and materials You should be familiar with the use of a SLR camera in manual mode and have basic knowledge of Photoshop.

With respect to the materials, you will need a camera, a luminous lens, a person who is willing to pose for you, another who can help you with the interview and a computer with Photoshop Camera Raw and Adobe Bridge installed.
